Rodrigo has 15 years of experience working in entrepreneurship and innovation policies to support new firm creation.
Today is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Start-Up Chile. The first public business accelerator in the world. Today one of the most recognized entrepreneurship policies and one of the biggest and most diverse startups portfolio.
Previously, Rodrigo led the Early Investment Direction, as well as he served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Entrepreneurship Division at the Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO). Under his leadership, he managed a public budget of USD $12 million yearly to support early-stage ventures.
Before CORFO he co-founded the Evidence-based Policy and Innovation Research Lab (EPIC Lab) at the Engineering School of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, which aimed at measuring the impact of entrepreneurship and innovation policies.
Rodrigo holds a Master of Science degree in Technology and Innovation Management from the University of Sussex (UK), a Master of Arts in Applied Communications from Universidad del Desarrollo (Chile), and a BA in Communications major in Advertising.
In 2020 was nominated as a global finalist by the British Council for the positive impact of his work. The same year, with his team they were global finalists by the digital think tank Apolitical UK as Covid Rapid Responders in the Public Service Team of the Year Awards.
